I joined Safa in 2023 as a primary inclusion specialist, supporting children in the early years with either 1:1 therapy or in class support. I am extremely grateful to be part of the Inclusion team at Safa Community, where every child gets an equal chance!
I am from United Kingdom and moved to Dubai in 2013 with my husband. I worked with homeless women with mental illnesses in England, and so moving to Dubai i had no other option but to explore a different area of work. At the time, this was difficult, however i have really enjoyed working with children with additional needs in the last 10 years. I am truly passionate about helping children and making a difference in their early years.
I qualified with a undergraduate degree in Psychology and Criminology from University of Westminster, UK. After moving to Dubai, i started off as working as a learning support assistant in a British school, where i gained basic knowledge and skills in how to support children with additional needs. I then began looking into ABA and gained experience as an ABA therapist for many years in two mental health clinics in Dubai. In the second clinic in 2020, i gained my BCaBA (Board Certified Assistant Behaviour Analyst) qualification. I expanded my experience from working with children in a clinical 1:1 setting to working with children in their classrooms across various schools in Dubai. I have also headed up my own team of learning support assistants in schools and ensuring they are trained and supporting their respective clients efficiently.
