My name is Saarah Usman and I’m very excited to be a part of the Inclusion team at Safa Community School.
I moved to Dubai in 2015 with my husband and two children, and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here as we spend our weekends and holidays exploring the different Emirates. I have always been passionate about teaching and believe that teachers play a vital role in not only providing students with the academic skills they need to succeed, but also instilling in them the values of resilience, confidence, kindness, and respect.
I started my teaching career when I began volunteering in my child’s school in Toronto, Canada in 2012. After moving to Dubai, I completed my CELTA and began teaching English as an Additional Language (EAL) for two years at a Gems School. In 2020, I completed my PGCEi from the University of Nottingham and continued working in the Inclusion team as an ELL Specialist at various schools around Dubai. I have found it incredibly rewarding to see students overcome their language barriers and thrive in their studies. I am committed to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students can reach their full potential.
