This will be my first year at The Safa Community school and I am extremely excited to start my new chapter as Head of FS1.
I thoroughly enjoy teaching and the EYFS is my passion where I love to explore the enquiry based approach to teaching and learning to promote curiosity and enrichment across all learners. I am extremely passionate about learning environments and ensuring these act as the third teacher. I am passionate about children’s health and wellbeing and learning through play. Therefore I really enjoy incorporating the child’s voice to inspire awe and wonder in open-ended provisions. I spent two summers working in two completely different summer camps, one being privileged in New York and one being underprivileged in Thailand, this is where I found my love for international teaching. I love being a teacher because of the positive community feel and I love living in the UAE because everyone is a family. In my spare time I enjoy taking part in art & wellbeing classes, competing in strength and running competitions and travelling to new countries around the world where I immerse myself in the culture.
I join The Safa Community School with 6 years of teaching in Dubai and a total of 7 years overall teaching experience. I am originally from a small town in North East Lincolnshire called Grimsby, England and I trained at Lincoln Bishop Grosseteste University where I specialised in the EYFS. I later took this passion and became an FS2 teacher in Kings Al Barsha Dubai for 2 years. My enthusiasm to develop as a teacher and take on new challenges lead me to The Arbor school as Head of Year 1. This allowed me obtain further experience with the younger children. Now, ready for a new challenge The Safa community school is on the horizon and I am eager to be back where I left my heart in the EYFS. FS1 will be a new challenge but a year group I have had experience with in my earlier teaching career. I look forward to learning from the school, my team and meeting my new learners.
