My name is Aimee Holtom and I am from Birmingham, England. I am a Geography Teacher here at Safa Community School.
I graduated from Aberystwyth University in 2014 with a degree in Physical Geography and completed my PGCE degree in Secondary Geography at Newman University in Birmingham. As a keen geographer, I am passionate about sustainability and traveling to explore different cultures and environments. I particularly enjoy learning and teaching about Earth’s natural processes and features, such as tectonics and river environments.
I have been teaching Geography since 2016. I began my teaching career in England at a Secondary school in Birmingham. After three years, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to become the Head of Department for Geography and led the department in developing a curriculum with a focus on the challenges facing the world today. I relocated to Dubai in 2022 and began my Dubai teaching experience as a Geography Teacher at Kent College Dubai. I have experience in teaching Geography from year 7 to 13, Social Studies, and Moral Education. I joined Safa Community School in 2023.
