Hello, my name is Aine Heylin and I am from Waterford, Ireland. I am delighted to welcome your child to 4AH for the new academic year at Safa Community School! I’ve been teaching in the Middle East since 2015 and I am looking forward to getting to know you all and guiding your child through their educational journey in an exciting and fun environment.
My years of experience as a teacher have helped me form a teaching philosophy that allows my students to succeed in the classroom and beyond. I strive to create a space for students to explore their own learning styles, help develop their interests and guide their learning in different areas within the curriculum. Sport is an absolute passion of mine. When I’m not at school you’ll find me on the tennis court, at the gym, participating in race events or even hiking in the cooler months. I am a fully qualified Level One Tennis Ireland coach and I have represented my country and province for 10 years running at both junior and senior levels.
I studied my PGCE at Brunel University, London. Shortly after graduating, I taught in a wonderful school in Notting Hill for 3 years. However, my passion for travel then took me across to the Middle East. I worked in Qatar as Key Stage Two Leader for 3 years and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. From there, I made the move to the UAE where I taught in Abu Dhabi for 2 years as Key Stage One Leader. Finally, I took the plunge and moved to Dubai and I never looked back! Here, I taught at an IB curriculum school where I was Head of Mathematics for 4 years. I cannot wait to welcome you all and share a fantastic year ahead at SCS!
