Hi everyone. I am from a small city in Yorkshire, in the North of England. I love teaching in the UAE and all the amazing opportunities it brings. I am so excited to work alongside the wonderful team and pupils at Safa Community School.
My favourite aspect of teaching is building positive relationships the pupils in my classroom and witnessing their pride when they overcome a challenge or make progress.
In my spare time, I like to socialise with my friends and family over breakfast or dinner. I am an avid reader and love nothing more than an exciting page-turner (the same applies with class novels!) In the half-term breaks, I enjoy travelling to new places. It is great to meet new people and experience different landscapes, foods and traditions.
Whilst completing my Psychology degree at the University of Liverpool, I unlocked my passion for education. I completed my PGDE at Sheffield Hallam University and then began my teaching career in a diverse and multi-cultural primary school. I have taught for several years in the UK and this will be my 3rd year living in Dubai. I am passionate about having a warm and inclusive classroom environment, where every child feels happy and valued. I strive to unlock curiosity and enthusiasm in the pupils I teach by planning engaging and innovative lessons. My classroom is collaborative and pupils are encouraged to work together, support each other and develop their communication skills.
