My name is Carla Lamora and I am from a busy city in the north of England called Bolton. I joined Safa Community School in 2019 and I love everything that the school has to offer. I have had the opportunity to take on a range of roles during my time here, including Senior Leader of Learning and Teaching and now as Assistant Head of Year 3 and 4.
I graduated from the University of South Wales, UK in 2014, where I was awarded a Postgraduate certificate in Primary Education. I have also obtained a BSc Hons Degree in Early Years Development and Education as well as a National Professional Qualification in Senior Leadership (NPQSL). I have lived in Dubai since 2014 and consider myself a very active, outdoors individual. I love to travel the world with my husband and two little boys and explore new cultures and have big adventures. I cannot wait to welcome you at SCS and help your child thrive both pastorally and academically.
Since joining SCS I have had the opportunity to develop my own professional development taking on a range of roles such as Head of Year 3, Wellbeing Curriculum Lead and Senior Leader of Learning and Teaching . These diverse roles have allowed me to enhance my leadership skills and pedagogy on education, positively impacting both staff and students on both curriculum and pastoral levels. Now in my new role as Assistant Head, I take pride in personally knowing each student to ensure comprehensive support. In the past years, I have furthered my professional development in areas such as wellbeing, mental health, and safeguarding through leading workshops across the UAE or gaining further educational qualifications.
