Dan Hatton
Year 6 Teacher & Senior Leader
Hello everyone! I cannot wait to meet all of your children and welcome them into 6DH. I was born and raised just outside of London in a place called Surrey. Ever since graduating from St Mary’s University in Twickenham, United Kingdom, I have been a full time Primary School Teacher.
About Me
Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work in a range of year groups and curriculums in the UK and Dubai.
As a teacher, I pride myself on creating an enjoyable and exciting environment in which everyone can learn. Integration of different subjects within lessons is a key priority of mine.
In my spare time, I love to play football, am an avid Chelsea fan and play competitively as a goalkeeper. I am a very sociable person, who thoroughly enjoys everything Dubai has to offer. From quad biking in the desert to skydiving over the Palm, I am up for any challenge.
My Experience
I have been teaching primary school students since 2012 and I have been with Safa Community School since 2019. After teaching in a plethora of year groups, I am now teaching Year 6. I started my career teaching in the London borough of Richmond for four years, before making the move to Dubai, where I have now taught for 7 years. My previous roles have been: PE coordinator, Science Leader and STEAM coordinator. My current role at Safa Community School is on the Senior Leadership team, where I work as ‘Head of National Agenda’. This role involves organising and analysing all external assessments, ensuring we meet the targets of the UAE’s National Agenda. I cannot wait to start teaching your child and guiding them along their journey to becoming a lifelong learner.
