Hello, my name is Holli Williams and I am delighted to be entering my second year at SCS. This will be my 8th year in teaching. I can’t wait to welcome you to Year 3 for the 2024-2025 academic year. We are going to have a fantastic and fun year of learning!
I was born in Brighton, England and spent most of my childhood in the Southern Hemisphere, growing up in both New Zealand and Australia where I grew a real passion for the great outdoors. When I am not in school, I am usually spending quality time with my family. I am a proud mother to my beautiful little girl Elodie. I have been fortunate enough to visit and live in many countries all over the world. I am a keen adventurer and take every opportunity to travel and experience new cultures. I am a big foodie and enjoy going to different restaurants to explore new cuisines. I am very active and I love to run; aiming to complete a marathon a year. I have a passion for health, fitness and sport and will give any sport, game or exercise class a try. Getting out and about in nature and spending quality time with my family and friends is what fills my bucket!
I graduated from the University of Otago, College of Education in 2017. Since then, I have been working as a primary classroom teacher for the past 7 Years. I gained most of my experience at a beautiful Primary School based in Wellington New Zealand, nestled between the bush and the beach. I started at SCS in 2023, and I am excited to be starting the new academic year here again. I have taught in both the Year 3/4 and 5/6 cohorts for the past 7 years and have previously held the role of Head of PE alongside my classroom teaching role in 2021. I am very passionate about my students, school and community, and believe in creating an environment that supports and encourages children to be risk-takers, critical thinkers, to take ownership of their learning and to love learning. I pride myself on having strong, positive relationships with all of my students. I have a strong foundation in teaching Mathematics, and am extremely passionate about this curriculum subject. I am able to offer children opportunities to access maths in an authentic, hands-on context which directly relates to their everyday lives. I am truly passionate about igniting in children a lifelong love of, and desire for learning.
