Jonathon Doey
DT Teacher
After studying Design Engineering in Ulster University until 2018, I took the opportunity to complete a PGCE in Design and Technology a year later in order to begin my career in teaching. Since qualifying as a teacher in 2019, I have worked in Northern Ireland for two years teaching Design & Technology and Engineering before moving to Dubai in 2022 in an attempt to merge two of my passions; teaching and travel.
About Me
Alongside teaching, I have a keen interest in all things sport related. I have played football with a variety of clubs in Northern Ireland, and more recently in Dubai. When I return home in the summer months I coach a range of football teams working within the Irish Football Association that range from 5 to 16 years of age. When I am not in the classroom or on the football pitch, you are likely to find me on one of the many outstanding golf courses here in Dubai.
My Experience
I have worked as a Design and Technology teacher for two years in Northern Ireland, delivering the GCSE and A Level courses. In addition to this, I have also delivered the newly popular Pearson BTEC Level 3 RQF Extended Certificate in Engineering. I am an extremely motivated and dedicated teacher with a passion for inspiring pupils to share the excitement and love I have for these subjects. I aim to encourage inquisitiveness and innovation, allowing pupils to explore their own ideas in a safe, open-minded setting.
