I am Miss. Lauren Stevens and I am excited to be joing the English team and the SAFA family.
I have been living in Dubai for the past 7 years and enjoy exploring the wide variety of attractions and activities that are on offer. The Emirates have introduced me to many new things, and I especially like to learn about other cultures and traditions. This has led to my love of cooking and trying out new recipes; although not always successfully. I also like to read to relax and spend time with my cats.
I qualified as a secondary English teacher from Sheffield Hallam University in 2013, however, I have been working in education and with young people since 2009. I have a passion for seeing young people grow and develop into the leaders of our future. I have taught both English and media studies to students from Y7 to Y13 and feel that through teaching these subjects young minds are developed to think critically and have invaluable life skills. As I have had responsibilities both academically and pastorally, I whole heartedly believe in developing the student as a whole and look forward to working with the students at SAFA.
