My name is Linda Marmion and I am from a little place in Ireland called Dundalk. I have been living in Dubai for the past fourteen years and I am extremely excited to begin my eight year at Safa Community School.
One of the things I love about living in Dubai is the huge range of nationalities and cultures I am privileged to work with and learn from on a daily basis. I love celebrating my Irish roots and you’ll often see me wearing my green whenever I’m given the chance!
I am a very approachable, friendly person and my main priority as Deputy Head of Pastoral care is to ensure that the children’s social and emotional wellbeing is at the root of every decision that we make here at Safa. I am very supportive and believe that parents, teachers and children should all work together to create a happy, caring, safe environment for our learners.
I love being a part of the Safa family and I am very ‘Proud to be Purple’.
I have been teaching across FS to Year 3 for the past 17 years and I was extremely lucky to begin my Safa journey as Head of Year 2 back in 2017. As Head of Year I was able to develop as a leader from within the Safa family. I taught in Year 2 for two years before starting my role as Assistant Head of Year 1-3. I then oversaw Year 1 and 2 while overseeing the pastoral care across the primary. As Deputy Head of Pastoral Care, I have the privilege of being an integral part of our school community’s journey towards holistic growth and development. At the heart of my role lies a deep commitment to the well-being and flourishing of every student. I love to learn and have spent a lot of time over the last few years on my own professional development especially around the areas of wellbeing, mental health and safeguarding. I recently completed my NPQH (National Professional Qualification in Headship) from University College London and I am now more prepared than ever to take on the challenges and responsibilities of school leadership. One of the most fulfilling aspects of my role is building meaningful relationships with students and their families as we all work together to ensure that our students achieve to the best of their ability.
