My name is Mathew Herring, and I am originally from Leeds, England. I completed a BSc Hons in Sport and Exercise Science before specialising in Physics for education and completing my Secondary PGCE Physics.
I love Physics and how it applies to the world around us! This passion for the subject allows me to keep my lessons exciting and engaging whilst also giving real world applications to what we are learning. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I also really enjoy watching and playing most sports but mainly golf and football.
I have been teaching Physics for over 10 years and specialise in mechanics, electromagnetism and Nuclear Physics. Throughout my career, I have also held leadership positions of Head of House which helped me to develop a keen sense of the importance of building relationship and the pastoral care needed to develop outstanding young adults. I have also held the position of Assistant Headteacher for Key Stage 4, which has allowed me to develop in depth understanding of the GCSE and IGCS pathways and how best to prepare for a successful journey into A-levels and university.
