Namina Kheira Tarawali

For the past 17 years, I’ve been diving into the wonderful world of Mathematics with boundless enthusiasm. From guiding students through the basics of KS3 to the complexities of KS5, I’ve relished every moment. Eleven of those years were spent in a fantastic UK comprehensive school, where I found my stride. Then, I embarked on an exciting adventure in Dubai. My Dubai teaching journey began at the School of Research Science, where I proudly served as the Head of KS5 for five years. Fast forward to September 2022, when I joined Safa Community School. There, I’ve embraced my roles as a Maths teacher and Second in Charge with gusto. Safa’s ethos resonates deeply with me, and I’ve thrown myself into school life, offering support and teamwork within the Mathematics department. Teaching, for me, is all about creating an environment where learning feels like an adventure. I’m passionate about my subject, and I want my students to feel that excitement too. But it’s not all serious business! I believe in high standards, sure, but I also believe in laughter and understanding. As I take on the role of Head of Mathematics, I am deeply honored to lead the department forward. During my tenure this year, when I assumed the position for maternity cover, I had the privilege of guiding the department to an outstanding rating through KHDA. It has been a journey marked by dedication, achievement, and a profound commitment to the pursuit of excellence in mathematics education. I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to collaborate with parents, supporting the children throughout their mathematical journey and fostering a strong partnership between home and school.
