After spending 10 years in Edinburgh, Scotland, I moved to Dubai with my family in 2015 and my sons have been part of the Safa Community School family since then. I am passionate about Occupational Therapy and the impact it can make in a child or young persons’ life. I find great joy in working so closely with families, educators and multi-disciplinary team members to empower children to be ‘all that they can be’ in all areas of their life.
I love spending time with my family, especially outdoors, hiking or swimming in the beautiful UAE. Other passions include cooking, pilates and skiing.
As an Occupational Therapist with 18 year’s experience in Paediatrics, I have much to offer. My knowledge and skills extend over a broad range of diagnoses having worked in both acute and community settings in South Africa and the UK. My qualification in Ayre’s Sensory Integration, as well as my working experience in schools over the past 8 years in Dubai, has given me a sound grounding in child development and assessment with specialized clinical decision-making skills in the management of children and adolescents.
Areas of special interest include: developmental delay, Autism, Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD), Dyspraxia/ Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (DCD) and emotional/ sensory regulation. I am dedicated to expanding my knowledge and expertise in order to provide the most up to date and effective treatment approaches.
I am highly committed to helping parents, carers, advisors and educators to ensure that every family receives the level of quality care they deserve.
