I am a highly motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated educator who wants all children to be successful and well-rounded learners. I am fully committed to creating an engaging classroom atmosphere that is stimulating and encouraging for all children and has a strong track record fostering child-centered curriculum and student creativity.
I have a passion for horse riding, proudly becoming the UAE champion for dressage in my division. I have a love for the outdoors enjoying time cycling and playing with remote controlled cars in the desert. I also have a flair for art and design enjoying mosaic and charcoal drawing in my spare time.
I completed my Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree at the University of Pretoria. Initially, I embarked on my professional journey as a Grade 3 Teacher at Brooklyn Primary School in South Africa for a span of two years. Seeking new opportunities, I then ventured to Dubai and joined the Sheffield Private School, taking on the role of a Year 6 class Teacher. Subsequently, I became a distinguished member of the Repton School Dubai community, dedicating 13 years of service. Throughout my tenure at Repton, I fulfilled the position of an English specialist teacher for a period of six years. In recognition of my expertise, I was entrusted with the responsibility of leading the English department as the Head of English for two years. Additionally, I was afforded an inspiring opportunity to establish the Design and Technology Department at the Junior School. Embracing this challenge, I diligently developed the curriculum and subsequently held the position of the Head of Art and Design and Technology. In this capacity, I had the privilege of teaching both Art and Design and Technology to students ranging from Year 1 to Year 6. Notably, my devotion to the welfare and guidance of students extends beyond the academic realm. Over the course of eight years, I served as the Head of Year 5, fostering a nurturing and supportive environment. Currently, I am the of the Head of Year 6, continuing to prioritise the holistic development and well-being of young learners.
