My name is Nicholas Makin and I am from the UK. I was awarded my BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Science degree at the University of Cumbria before gaining my PGCE as a Secondary PE teacher.
Alongside my passion for sport I am an avid and mental health advocate.
As I step into the role of Second in Charge of Sixth Form and Strategic Lead for Secondary Pastoral at Safa Community School, I bring with me over a decade of dedicated teaching and leadership experience, including three years as a Senior Leader, and Designated Safeguard Lead. My commitment to the academic, social, and emotional development of young learners is unwavering, and I am enthusiastic about fostering life skills to prepare students for the challenges of the adult world. Throughout my career, I have been a staunch advocate for positive mental health strategies and lifelong learning. This passion extends into my role at Safa Community School, where I will continue to promote these values through whole school initiatives, student assemblies, and cross-curricular programs. I hold a BSc(Hons) in Sport and Exercise Science from the University of Cumbria, UK, and I am excited to contribute my wealth of leadership experience gained in the UK, Oman, and the UAE to the Safa community.
