Rana Ghazal-Laghoutis
PA to Headteacher Primary
I started working in SCS from March 2022, and I can say that I haven’t been happier working anywhere else than I am here. I am really fortunate to work in a place where staff wellbeing is of utmost importance. Though I may be new as a staff member, I have been part of the Safa family for a while now as this is my fifth academic year as a mum of 2 boys that attend SCS
About Me
I am originally – and very proudly – Lebanese but I grew up and lived most of my life in Cyprus. I moved to the UAE in 2016, with the intention of only staying a couple of years, but 6 years later I am still here with my family with no intention on leaving anytime soon! You can say that I am quite family orientated, I am lucky to have a good circle of friends here in Dubai, as being an expat can get quite lonely when you are far away from family. I absolutely love to watch sports, whether it is live in venues or on TV and I am an avid Liverpool FC fan. I love dancing, listening to music, binge watching series and cooking!
My Experience
I come from a hotel background and I obtained my BA degree in Hospitality Management. I started working from the age of 18 where I was a trainee in the kitchen and after working for almost 15 years I ended my hotel career as a Rooms Division Manager. I began working within the education sector when I moved to the UAE, and in 2020 I got my PGCE degree from the University of Sunderland in Secondary Business Studies.
