Hello, I’m Rebecca Williams, originally from Cardiff, Wales. Since 2017, I have worked as a teacher here at Safa community, in both Drama and English. Presently, I hold the position of Senior Leader of Learning and Teaching, where I am dedicated to educational excellence for our students and fellow teachers alike.
Born and raised in the Welsh capital of Cardiff, I enrolled at Cardiff University to further explore my passion for Drama. Determined to share my knowledge and inspire young minds, I then went on to pursue a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) at the same institution. I expanded my teaching experience across different regions, including the UK and New Zealand before moving to Dubai in 2018. In 2022, I furthered my commitment to leadership and educational excellence by obtaining my National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership (NPQSL) from the esteemed University College London (UCL). This qualification has equipped me with the skills and knowledge necessary to lead with confidence and inspire positive change within the educational community.
I am a teacher of Drama and have over 13 years experience of teaching GCSE and A Level Drama, as well as BTEC Performing Arts. In addition I have worked as a Head of Drama for 12 years at a number of different schools in the UK and at Safa. During this time I have overseen several School productions and Performing Arts Evenings. I have also had the opportunity to contribute to the pastoral team at Safa and work closely with our Key Stage 3 students, providing them with support, guidance, and advice as they progress through the secondary school.
