My name is Sian Hayes, I am from the UK and I will be joining the MFL department to teach French and Spanish. I am originally from the Midlands but moved to the North-West of England for university and stayed there until I moved to Dubai in 2022. I am really looking forward to becoming part of the Safa team!
I spent my third year of university teaching English in the Spanish city of Pamplona, famous for the Encierro (Bull Run). I have lived in Dubai for two years now and absolutely love it! I love spending time outdoors with my family and enjoying all of the incredible opportunities that we have here.
After finishing my degree at Lancaster University, I went on to complete my PGCE at the University of Cumbria. I have spent 10 years teaching French, Spanish, and sometimes German, in schools both in London and in the North-West of England. I have been teaching in Dubai for the last two years in an IB school, I am really looking forward to using my IB and British experience at Safa Community School. I believe that learning a language is great exercise for your brain, I am passionate about making language learning fun, interesting and relevant to the real world in order for students to become confident linguists.
