Tina Filipcic

Head of Year 11 | German Teacher

My name is Tina Filipcic and I am from a little European country called Slovenia. I have studied at the University of Ljubljana and the Free University of Berlin and have obtained the title Professor of German language and literature.

About Me

I hold a Masters in Education and I have specialised in teaching German as a foreign language. While I was living and studying in Berlin I got to experience the benefits of living in a cosmopolitan city with a multicultural environment which is why I moved to Dubai in 2012. Being multilingual I like to inspire students to learn languages and with this create new opportunities for them as global citizens.  In my spare time I like to spend time with my husband and my son, listen to vinyl and go horseback riding.

My Experience

I started teaching in 2009 and during this time I have taught German to students of different age groups and backgrounds as well as doctors, government institutions and big international corporations. I have joined Safa Community School in the academic year 2014/15 and have been teaching MFL German and Mother tongue German from Key stage 1 to Key stage 5. I am currently focusing on teaching MFL German in Secondary school. At Safa, I offer German ECAs with a particular emphasis on exam practice and techniques, both at GCSE and A Level. I am also part of the Secondary school pastoral team as Head of Year 11.
